Our speaker this month will be Jo-Anne Yau from Wood, Atter and Wolfe, PA.

Jo-Anne will be speaking on the relationship between attorney and Investigator as well as liability issues, running your business properly as well as the do's and dont's to name a few topics.

Jo-Anne Yau is a Trademark and Franchise attorney, representing businesses across the United States. She also represents inventors, artists, and musicians around the world, advising them of their patent and copyright rights in the U.S. Ms. Yaus experience also includes litigation of various legal disputes, including breach of contract, personal injury, and criminal defense.

In 2007, Ms. Yaus advice to businesses regarding trade secrets was highlighted in the Jacksonville Business Journal. That same year, the Florida Times-Union documented Ms. Yaus involvement and investigation in a controversial personal injury case in Yulee, Florida.

Since 2005, Ms. Yau has been invited to speak about trademark law to Franchise Law students at Florida Coastal School of Law, and to Graphic Arts students at the University of North Florida. For three consecutive years, she has also coached the law schools Trial Team in preparation for nationwide competitions. In addition, Ms. Yau is an adjunct professor for the Paralegal Studies department at Florida Community College in Jacksonville.

Ms. Yaus manuscript, Stealing Whats Free: Exploring Compensation to Body Parts Sources for Their Contribution to Profitable Biomedical Research was published in the Franklin Pierce Law Review journal in 2006.

Ms. Yau is practicing with the law firm of Wood, Atter & Wolf, in Jacksonville, Florida.
